Politician and former ward councilor Morwesi Sole dies

'She was an activist and member of the ANC who served her community with passion and she will be dearly missed by her family, friends, comrades and colleagues' – family spokesperson.

Local politician and former ward councilor of the then Randfontein Local Municipality Morwesi Sole has died.

Sole died on Tuesday, April 4 following a lengthy illness.

According to family spokesperson Bassy Funeka, Sole was currently under the employ of the premier’s office as a rapid response team member.

“Sole has served as a ward councillor from 2006 to 2009 in Randfontein Local Municipality. She also worked at the Provincial Department of Education and also served at the Parliamentary Constituency Office. She was an activist and member of the ANC who served her community with passion and she will be dearly missed by her family, friends, comrades, colleagues in the both local and provincial government, and the community of Rand West City,” said Funeka.

She added that the funeral service will take place at the Ramosa Hall in Mohlakeng on Saturday, April 15. Family and friends will then proceed to the Greenhills Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.
