West Rand Toastmasters hold successful meeting
Twanda Kembo took on the role of Jokemaster, and the jokes were, of course, about Eskom.
On February 16, the West Rand Toastmasters meeting number 538 was well attended, with seven visitors welcomed.
Glen Campbell (Distinguished Toastmaster) chose the theme “Impromptu Speaking” for this meeting, which was educational and fully explained the Table Topic of speaking “off the cuff”. Glen requested that the role players explain their roles.
Twanda Kembo took on the role of Jokemaster, and the jokes were, of course, about Eskom.
For the first time, member Zelda Jood served as their Timekeeper.
Their President, Sipokazi Swana, presided over the Table Topics and had a bag of items that each contestant had to choose and sell to those around the table.
Sipokazi announced the winners, which were democratically elected, as follows:
• Table Topics winner – Happiness Ngwane
• Best Contributor – Glen Campbell
We look forward to our next meeting on March 2. We will decide who will represent our club at the area contest during this meeting,” Glen concluded.
