This comes after the company sponsored the girls with not only matric dresses, but with make-up, shoes, nails, breakfast, transportation and bought them tickets to the event as well. Speaking to the Herald in an interview with Fine Home Randfontein Excellence principal Lelani Momberg said they wanted to offer a helping hand.

“The reason why we decided to do this is because so many girls dream of this day and once it is closer to the time, there are limited resources available to help pay or assist for the dresses, the cars or even the tickets which were extremely expensive for the girls.

Desiré Fourie, Charisckha Hendricks, Alulutho Makhoatatsana and Thandiwe Kolwane came out tops and were selected to receive sponsorship from Fine Home Randfontein Excellence.

“So, what we did is we placed an advertisement on Facebook, and we also sent it to the high schools in the area, and we asked the headmasters of the schools to inform the girls about the competition. The advertisement simply stated that those who are interested in the sponsorship should write us a letter, motivating why they think they are deserving.

“We had a total of 50 letters, but we could only interview 25 learners out of the group. We initially wanted to sponsor one learner, but decided to take on four learners who we felt were deserving of the opportunity to be dressed from head to toe,” said Momberg.

She added that they also worked hand-in-hand with Nicole Mienie from NM Photography, who helped capture the memorable evening for the learners.

One of the beneficiaries, Thandiwe Kolwane, said she is thankful to the agency for going the extra mile.

“I want to say thank you to Fine Home for the matric farewell sponsorship. I’m grateful for everything you provided for me. If it wasn’t for the sponsorship, I don’t think I would have gone to the farewell. It was such a great and fun experience,” said Kolwane.

Meanwhile, another beneficiary Desiré Fourie shared similar sentiments.

“Fine Home made the experience of going to matric farewell worthwhile. They really worked hard to make the experience feel like a fairy tale and made it into a day to never forget. Thank you so much,” said Fourie.

Alulutho Mokhoatatsana and Charisckha Hendricks were also beneficiaries of the sponsorship and were also thankful for the assistance.
