Cops intensify visibility in Westonaria

The men and women in blue stationed themselves on the R28 in Westonaria to conduct a roadblock. This was an effort to monitor hijackings and increase visibility.

Westonaria Police held a roadblock on the R28 turnoff in Glenharvie, Westonaria between 14:00 and 17:00 last Friday, January 27 aimed at increasing police visibility.

Westonaria Police Station Commander Colonel Jurie Ferreira was also present during the roadblock.

“The main focus for the operation was to monitor hijackings of vehicles and trucks.

“Furthermore stop and search operation was also conducted to look for illegal firearms and ammunition, suspected stolen vehicles, properties and possession of substances suspected to be drugs,” said Ferreira, who also thanked the officers for their hard work and dedication in disrupting all forms of criminality.
