Mohlakeng beauty crowned Miss Johannesburg 2023

Local beauty from Mohlakeng, Tumelo Lehloka recently bagged the Miss Johannesburg 2023 title.

She was crowned during a ceremony at the Indaba Hotel in 2022.

The 25-year-old said she is blessed and honoured to be entrusted with the title as it will give her much hope to execute her plans in order to make a difference in the community.

“Inclusive of competing, we had to perform a number of tasks such as raising funds, providing gifts and charity items, finding sponsors along with receiving votes from the public.”

Tumelo started becoming serious about pageantry at the age of 20. This was her way of empowering herself and becoming the best version of herself.

“I continued with pageantry because I believe it was time for me to empower others, pageantry is a way for me to give back to the community and each title allows me to do so in each of their unique ways. Miss Johannesburg had allowed me to give back in a far greater ways and as I have already started giving, back I will continue to do so with diligence and grace.”

Her previous titles include Queen of Queens second runner-up 2021; Miss West Rand Exclusive Congeniality 2022; Miss Model of Excellence 2022 and Miss Johannesburg 2023.

“I’m currently competing for Miss Randfontein and Miss Global Princess South Africa. In future I hope to compete in more national and international pageants and with my current title I intend on assisting the less fortunate, providing support and a helping hand to other organisations, motivating and educating society about their mental health.”
