More trees planted at Greenhills Riverpark

At least 25 trees were planted at the Greenhills Riverpark thanks to a join effort.

The Greenhills Riverpark along Rietbok Steet will now provide more shade and greater habitat conservation for birds.

What was a joint effort between the AGS Children’s Home, members of the DA and Carryou Ministry saw 25 trees being planted on the day.

As a result of the planting of several trees, there is an appeal to everyone in the community to contribute to the preservation of this natural treasure that’s available. Photo submitted.

Organiser of the event, Wendy de Klerk, said they also planted some palm trees to decorate the edges of where community members had mowed the grass.

“We thank the Afrikaanse Taal- en Kultuurvereniging (ATKV) for the donation of the young saplings and appeal to the community to protect them. Do not allow them to be removed and exploited for their wood,” said De Klerk.
