A police officer attached to the Bekkersdal Police Station’s Supply Chain Management was able to put a smile on someone’s face this past Christmas after she donated food and toiletries to a needy resident from the Holomisa informal settlement.
Sergeant Busisiwe Sibeko gifted the 51-year-old woman from the settlement with groceries two days before Christmas on Friday, December, 23.

Bekkersdal police spokesperson Sergeant Linkie Lefakane said the act of kindness went a long way and was appreciated by the beneficiary.
“Sibeko was eager to share and care for someone who desperately needed food for the festive season as it was time for sharing. She then asked around the area and the community identified the beneficiary in question.

“She did not hesitate and immediately went out and came back with plastic bags of food and toiletries which she gave to the woman,” said Segeant Lefakane, who added that the beneficiary was speechless and could not hold back her tears of joy.
She also thanked Sergeant Sibeko and wished her all the best for 2023.
