Strutting her stuff at age 9

Mohlakeng resident Lindokuhle Jalvane is making waves in the modelling industry and has been crowned Miss Star Universe South Africa 2023.

This was at a pageant that took place on December 3 at Daniels Den wedding venue in Hillside, Randfontein.

Lindokuhle’s mother Sana Jalvane said the 9-year-old Jalvane started entering pageants in 2020 but added that she was initially reluctant about her daughter’s sudden interest in the hobby.

“I was initially very reluctant about her sudden interest in modelling until I saw just how much this meant to her. She would literally pester me and ask that I buy her dresses for pageants and other items and that’s when I saw the spark in her eyes.

“I decided to then support her, and she has been doing good ever since,” said Jalvane who added that Lindokuhle has only lost one pageant since taking to the stage and has come out in the top three in every pageant she has taken part in.

She has bagged many titles such as first princess and second princess in her competitions and this has always motivated her to hone her skills and aim for the ultimate price.

Lindokuhle is part of the Bontle Ba Mosadi modelling agency which has been coaching her and ensuring that she takes part in the prestigious events.

While modelling is one of her passions, the young Jalvane said she wants to study towards becoming a doctor once done with school.
