Tswelelo Primary hosts annual awards ceremony

Tswelelo Primary School honoured learners in different grades for doing well throughout the 2022 school year.

Tswelelo Primary School recently hosted its annual awards ceremony at the St John’s Church in Mohlakeng for their learners, on Friday, December 2.

The Herald spoke to the awards coordinator and foundation phase Departmental Head Edith Lolwane who said the purpose of the awards to was highlight and honour those who’ve made strides in among others academics and sports.

“We honoured learners from all grades in various categories. The categories we focused on the day was the substantial award category, the meritorious awards category and the outstanding achievement category. This is where some learners were awarded certificates and trophies in accordance with their performances.

“Some were ecstatic while others cried with emotion in what was a capacity crowd in attendance,” said Lolwane, who added that the awards demonstrate the dedication of all teachers as well as the learners’ efforts to succeed in school.

She added that the awards have been held annually for more than 10 years with the exception of when Covid-19 hit the country.
