Domestic workers robbed at knifepoint in Helikon Park

Mapogo reaction officers arrested a suspect involved in the armed robbery of two domestic workers at a house in Helikon Park.

Two domestic workers were robbed of their cell phones during an armed robbery at a house in Helikon Park on Thursday, night December 1.

It was one of four serious incidents reported to Mapogo A Mathamaga Security in the Rand West City for the period Monday, November 28 to Sunday, December 4.

The security company’s operations manager Ben Willemse explained the incident took place at 18:23.

“The domestic workers activated the alarm and the suspect was arrested by Mapogo reaction officers,” said Willemse.

Details about other incidents:

• Monday, November 28 at 10:01 – Break-in and theft in Wilbotsdal, Randfontein

Suspects forced an outside building door open and stole one bicycle and clothing.

• Friday, December 2 at 02:04 – Housebreaking and theft in Camble Road, Hillside

Suspects gained access into the premises and proceeded to force open a glass door and stole one flat screen television and one CCTV monitor.

• Saturday, December 3 at 23:13 – Housebreaking in Nassau street, Culemborg Park

Suspects gained access into the premises and proceeded to break a window, however nothing was stolen.
