The two were working on investigating numerous cases in relation to serious and violent crimes and have a string of successful convictions under their belts.

This comes as they’ve worked hard in executing their duties which led to the rooting out of criminals from communities and putting them behind bars.

Speaking to the Herald in an interview, Ramulondo said he joined the force in 1987 and said this was a pivotal point in his career.

Newly promoted Captain Conrad Roberts.

“I am really happy about my achievements. I’ve got 35 years in the service and have achieved 14 life sentences. More are still coming. I am a hard worker and the criminals in this area have another thing coming. I know the mind of a criminal and I know how to corner them, so they’ll have no place to hide. I have played my part and will continue to do so. I didn’t join this police force to add numbers,” said Ramulondo.

Asked on which case marks the highlight of his career, Ramulondo added that he is proud to have traced and caught a dangerous criminal who had escaped from Sun City prison and put him back behind bars. This is just one of his career highlights which he said are too many to mention.

Ramulondo will be working hand-in-hand with Robertson and believes they will be a formidable duo.

Speaking to Robertson, he said this is a beautiful and remarkable milestone of his career.

“I have been in the service for 33 years and I am happy to have received this promotion. I’ve contributed to a lot of successful convictions over the years and have gotten rid of some of the biggest criminal minds on our streets. What I love the most regarding my work is seeing families in court while the person is convicted and sentenced and just witnessing the appreciation in their eyes is truly the best for me,” said Robertson.

He added that going forward, he wants to give guidance to his juniors and continue being a great cop.
