Police launch manhunt for a group of Lesotho men in Bekkersdal

Two men are wanted in connection with the shooting and killing of two other Lesotho foreign nations on two separate occasions.

Bekkersdal Police have launched a manhunt for a group of Lesotho foreign nationals after two men, also Lesotho foreign nationals, were gunned down in the area.

Both incidents occurred on October 31 at the Silver Town and Mandela informal settlements respectively. They are separate incidents.

Bekkersdal Police spokesperson Linkie Lefakane said, “Police were called out to both scenes hours apart where the victim was identified to be a Lesotho national. One person was shot at the Silver Town informal settlements and another at the Mandela informal settlements. The motive for the shooting is still unknown but investigations are still ongoing.”

She added that on the same day a 36 year old Lesotho foreign national was arrested for shooting and killing another Lesotho National near a tavern on Hhomoeahlaba Street in Bekkersdal.
