Culemborg Park home heavily damaged in fire

Mapogo A Mathamag Security released its latest crime report in the Rand West City that included a house fire in Culemborg Park and a spike in incidents for Wednesday, October 26.

A house sustained severe fire damage in Culemborg Park in one of the 12 serious incidents reported to Mapogo A Mathamaga Security in the Rand West City for the period Monday, October 24 to Sunday, October 30.

The security company’s operations manager Ben Willemse explained the incident took place at about 17:13 on Saturday, October 29.

“On arrival at the premises the response officer noticed that the house was on fire, on arrival of the fire brigade the fire was extinguished and it was established that the house sustained severe fire damage,” confirmed Willemse.

Details about other incidents:

1. Monday, October 24 at 15:30 – Theft and arrest in Kingfisher Street, Helikonpark:

A perpetrator walked past houses within the street and stole small solar lights and attempted to flee and was arrested shortly afterwards.

2. Wednesday, October 26 at 04:11 – Business break-in and arrest in Union Street, Randgate:

Perpetrators broke the locks of the premises and gained entry into the store rooms, on arrival of response units two perpetrators were arrested on the site and all stolen items were recovered and handed back to the owner.

3. Wednesday, October 26 at 04:11 – Attempted housebreaking in Kenneth Avenue, Greenhills:

Perpetrators gained entry onto the premises and attempted to force the safety gate open when the owner made alarm the perpetrators fled the scene.

4. Wednesday, October 26 at 07:57 – Damage to property in Union Street, Randgate:

On opening the business the owner discovered that the front glass window was broken but no entry was gained into the business.

5. Wednesday, October 26 at 16:08 – Housebreaking and theft in Fairway Crescent, Robinpark:

Perpetrators climbed over the front wall to gain entry and proceeded to kick open the front door and stole a flat screen television and jewellery and fled the scene.

6. Wednesday, October 26 at 20:20 – Attempted housebreaking in Mossie Massyn Street, Eikepark:

On arrival of response unit it was noticed that the front door was forced open, on arrival of the owner it was confirmed that nothing was stolen.

7. Friday, October 28 at 03:07 – Theft in Merwe Road, Klein Elandsvlei:

Perpetrators cut the perimeter fence and proceeded to the house where they stole a solar panel from the roof and fled the scene.

8. Friday, October 28 at 06:09 – Business break-in in Raven Road, Greenhills:

Perpetrators gained entry onto the premises and forced open a window and burglar bars and stole a computer screen and telephone and fled the scene.

9. Friday, October 28 at 11:50 – Attempted housebreaking in The Green Avenue, Robinpark:

Perpetrators lifted the gate from its rails to gain entry and proceeded to the house when the alarm activated they fled the scene.

10. Friday, October 28 at 11:56 – Attempted housebreaking in Reiger Street, Culemborg Park:

Perpetrators lifted the gate from its railing and proceeded to the house where they forced open the safety gate and attempted to force open the wooden door but did not manage and fled the scene.

11. Saturday, October 29 at 14:02 – Housebreaking and theft in Elaine Street, Homelake:

Perpetrators climbed over the fence and forced open a door of the flat and stole various items and fled the scene.
