Help give abandoned dogs and cats a fighting chance

Cast Aways Animal Sanctuary will be hosting another fundraiser at Fantasy Farm Yard in Wilbotsdal on October 22.

Cast Aways Animal Sanctuary needs help in giving rescued dogs and cats a fighting chance.

To do this, they will be hosting another fundraiser at Fantasy Farm Yard in Wilbotsdal on October 22. The aim of the fundraiser is to pay for their upkeep, their veterinary bills, as well as their food.

Speaking to the Herald, Cast Aways Animal Sanctuary Director and event organiser Gina van Zyl said entrance to the event is R30 or a packet of dog or cat food.

“We are really excited about this event as it will help us in looking after the dogs and cats in our care. We are hoping that people will come out in their numbers to support our cause and we will be having live performances, food stalls and a jumping castle.

“It is not compulsory for one to pay an entrance fee, they can rather bring an item of dog or cat food as part of their contribution,” said Van Zyl

She added that some of the funds made at the event will also go towards paying for surgery costs of a dog she recently took in after it was hit by a car.

Cast Aways Animal Sanctuary is an animal shelter situated in Wilbotsdal and looks after approximately 130 dogs and 250 cats that were once stray.
