Local resident and attorney at law Rosa van Niekerk is aiming high. She has just been named a finalist in the Mrs Africa Classic 2023 pageant.
The 46-year-old owner of Rosa van Niekerk Attorneys said she was honoured and blessed to be a finalist and she’s looking forward to the journey with Africa Pageants.

“Africa Pageants supports the Africa Pageant Foundation in Africa. This project ensures that surgical procedures are performed on women living with endemic goitre or fistula conditions. Nzuri means ‘beautiful’ in Swahili and the aim is to reach and treat women in the most remote and war-torn areas who have to live with these two horrifying conditions,” said Van Niekerk.
She added that she would have the privilege to do fundraisers for Africa Pageant Foundation to assist financially to ensure that woman in Africa get the surgical help they need.
Van Niekerk entered the Mrs Grand South Africa pageant in 2017 and secured the crown. It gave her a bigger platform to spread her message of Crown Up as well as a platform to fight against gender-based violence, to assist women in gender-based violence situations, and promote women empowerment, thereby becoming her sister’s keeper.
At the beginning of 2022 a close friend and I started Mrs Royal International Pageants. Seeing the ladies grow as individuals and follow their life-long dream led me to enter Mrs Africa Classic. I am a director of Project Rage NPO which gives me the platform to fight against gender-based violence, and spread my message of Crown Up.”
She explained that God is the reason behind everything she does because He helps her through hard times and guides her towards good ones; He is one of the reasons she decided to enter this pageant.

“I also owe so much of my success to my loving and supportive husband, Jacobus van Niekerk, who always believes in me and motivates me to go the extra mile. Alongside him I have my two cheerleaders, Rosie and Bella, my two beautiful Italian-blooded daughters, who continue to remind me of my true potential.”
If she’s privileged to win the Mrs Africa Classic 2023 title, Van Niekerk said she would use this platform to uplift women and young girls to be the best version of themselves.
