Teacher also inspiring motivational speaker

The aim of her talks is to uplift and encourage others.

A Hoërskool Riebeeckrand teacher is inspiring others who need a little bit of encouragement through her motivational speaking.

In 2019 the 31-year-old Bianca Holton was invited to speak at a women’s event in Carletonville, and was also a speaker at two ladies teas in Randfontein.

She explained that she didn’t even consider herself a motivational speaker because it started off with her journalling a few thoughts that she shared with a friend and thought that nothing would come of it, but two months later she was asked if she would share something at a ‘Woman of Vision’ event.

Bianca said as an educator her profession allows her to speak into the lives of today’s youth which is our future.

Even if my motivational talks only reach or touch one person that is okay, because at least I know that it meant something to that person at that specific moment. It inspired that person to overcome whatever they were facing or struggling with.”

According to her, most of her topics are related to things that she has been through in her life such as insecurity; knowing that your worth is found in God and not in the ‘stuff’ of this world; being original; and not trying to fit in with what is not for you.

“When I was in school I was bullied for being the ‘goody two-shoes’ and always doing what was right even if nobody else was doing it.”

Bianca said her talks and messages aren’t aimed at a specific group, but rather those who need a little encouragement or inspiration in life.

If I can inspire one person then it makes me beyond happy because sometimes we don’t know what others are going through. What I say might just be what they needed to hear at that moment.

Unfortunately, we live in a dark and broken world and people need to be reminded that even in our struggles there is still hope. Kindness is free, so sprinkle it everywhere.”

She added that God gave her a talent to be an inspiration to other women, to be the woman whom she needed when she was younger. “Be the light, be the difference in a world where people are hurting and broken. Even a smile might just be what someone needs.”

The aim of her talks is to uplift and encourage others to place their hope in the Lord, as encouraging others not only blesses and refreshes them but also yourself. It is more blessed to give than to receive.
