Homelake model, 14, hopes to compete in Turkey

Sojamoholo currently holds 70 titles from the different competitions she participated in over the years and said her goal was to get 100 titles.

Maggy Sejamoholo, a 14-year-old model from Homelake, will be flying South Africa’s flag high in Turkey to represent the country in a model competition.

This will be from October 1 to 7 at the Miss TV Start Model competition, which she described as an opportunity of a lifetime.

Born in Krugersdorp and raised in Randfontein, Sejamoholo kick-started her modelling career at the age of six.

I started entering school competitions and that’s when my mom saw that I was passionate about modelling.

“She then enrolled me at our local modelling academy and that’s when I started entering big competitions and won several times,” said Sejamoholo who is in Grade 9 at Hoërskool Riebeeckrand.

She currently holds 70 titles from the different competitions she participated in over the years and said her goal was to get 100 titles.

She hopes that the country and Randfontein residents will back her dream of competing on the international stage and she is asking for donations of R65 000.

These are some of the 70 titles Maggy Sejamoholo has won over the years.

This will go towards her travelling costs and food for her and her mother, as she is a minor and cannot travel alone.

She wants to reach greater heights in her modelling career and looks up to former Miss South Africa Zozibini Tunzi.

I am really passionate about what I do and I one day I hope to be like Zozibini.

“She broke the ceiling in the world of modelling and she is so inspirational,” said the model who also wishes to become a paediatrician.

Those wishing to donate can contact her mother Pretty Sejamoholo on 083 734 5186.

They can also donate funds to the following account: Capitec Bank, account number 1420995055. It’s a savings account and the branch code is 47001 Randfontein.
