R’fontein police educate children on their rights
Randfontein cops visit day care centre to discuss from children's rights to kidnapping and abuse.
The Randfontein Police’s Social Crime Prevention Unit together with Youth Desk and Tsosanang Community Youth visited Annatjie Day Care Centre in West Porges on Monday, August 1 to create awareness.

Sergeant Portia Mabala, Social Crime Prevention coordinator said topics that were discussed included children’s rights, child labour, children abuse, kidnapping, trafficking and missing children.
They interacted with the children by singing and playing games.
“The children were informed that they must report to their parents and teachers if they have been touched on their special (private) body parts.
They were also educated not to talk to strangers, not to take sweets from strangers, and always inform their grown-ups of where they are,” concluded Mabala.
