Level-one water restrictions remain in place in Rand West City

Recently, Rand Water implemented level-one water restrictions. Rand West City Local Municipality gave an update and mentioned no indication of improvement.

Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) has reminded all residents that level-one water restrictions are still in place.

The water restrictions came in response to persistent supply and demand challenges. This is according to municipal spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa who added the situation has not been showing improvement and further deterioration is likely.

He explained that conserving water includes fixing leaks or dripping faucets, using water-efficient appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers and collecting rainwater for gardening.

Other conservation options Montshiwa gives include shortening showers and turning off the tap while brushing teeth.

“It is crucial for individuals to be mindful of their water usage and make conscious efforts to conserve this precious resource. By working together as a community and implementing these water-saving practices, we can help alleviate the strain on the water supply and ensure that it is available for essential needs,” Montshiwa claimed.
