OPINION: Parts of town knee-deep in sewage yet Rand West now in charge of managing Gauteng’s sewer networks

Another resident has written a letter of shock about the municipality being tasked to manage Gauteng's sewer networks, especially when parts of Randfontein have major sewage issues of their own.

• Charlene Boshoff writes:

We are in the town planning and development business and have contact with a private plumber who was appointed last week by homeowners to open the municipal sewer line behind a school in Randgate.

Why can municipal workers not do it? And in Robinpark the sewer line is flooded knee-deep.

Those poor people have now installed a septic tank … just look at Greenhills and the overflow.

The municipality cannot even try to help their town (Randfontein) how about helping across the province?
