Councillor gets her hands dirty for Mandela Day

Ward councillor spends her 67 minutes on a clean-up campaign for Mohlakeng.

Ward 18 Councillor Tsitsana Tlholoe took the time to join Community Work Programme workers during a clean-up campaign as part of Mandela Day.

They were joined by ward officer Seun Letheane and former teacher Koko Podumo who also offered her time to clean the illegal dumping site next to the Mohlakeng Hostel.

Former Mohlakano Primary School teacher also contributing to the 67 mintues.

“The illegal dumping site has become an eyesore and a health hazard for others. We then decided to get our hands dirty and get on board with the campaign. This has set a precedent for residents and other councillors to continue maintaining and cleaning the site,” concluded Tlholoe.
