Rand Water’s comprehensive maintenance will be scheduled for later this month with the Rand West City Local Municipality giving notice to its residents.
Municipal spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa has stated that the maintenance will commence from June 22 to July 29. Consequently, water usage will be reduced. Montshiwa claimed that this is due to maintenance of the Eikenhof Pumping Station, causing it to operate at 83% capacity for 15 days.
In response to the water shortage, Montshiwa said that the municipality will be offering alternative water supplies to residents and businesses. He added that the municipality will regularly give updates on the situation.
