Venterspos: From a water crisis to power outages
Parts of Venterspos are now without electricity due to a cable fault. The town has also been facing a water crisis since before Christmas.
Residents of Venterspos have been dealt another heavy municipal blow.
Besides currently experiencing a water crisis due to a burst pipe, parts of the area are now without electricity.
Rand West City Local Municipality stated on January 8 that the power outage was a result of a faulty cable.

“This impacts the supply of electricity to the mini substation. Our technical team is working hard to locate and trace the fault and once located, we will proceed with excavation to fix the cable. However, please note that this is a complex task and it may take some time before power is fully restored to the affected area.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” read the statement, which added that the estimated downtime is unknown.
