Westergloor residents affected by water outage

It currently remains unclear as to what caused the problem but the municipality has spoken to Rand Water about the matter and investigations are underway.

Residents of Westergloor will have little to no water today (December 6), as the precious resource has been depleted at the Westergloor Water Tower.

Information to this effect was contained in a statement released by the Rand West City Local Municipality and confirmed by its spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa.

Speaking to the Randfontein Herald in an interview, Montshiwa said it currently remains unclear as to what caused the problem but said they have spoken to Rand Water and investigations are underway.

“Please be advised that the water levels at the Westergloor Water Tower are significantly depleted, prompting us to proactively shut off the water pumps to prevent overheating.

“We have contacted Rand Water, and they are en route here to investigate and rectify this issue.

“We extend our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience that may have been caused. We understand that the situation may have caused frustration, and we regret any negative impact it may have had,” said Montshiwa who added that they are taking steps to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
