Municipality going hammer and tongs at blocked sewage systems

The municipality is busy fixing blockages across Randfontein, including improving infrastructure.

Rand West City Local Municipality’s (RWCLM) water and sanitation department is rolling up its sleeves and working non-stop to improve infrastructure and future blockages to the sewer system.

RWCLM spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa has confirmed this.

“The instruction comes after the municipality has faced many challenges, particularly where sewer systems are concerned. The battle against stormwater blockages and sewer backlogs is in progress. There is a serious campaign being undertaken by the municipality to resolve all backlogs.

“We are all hands on deck and will not stop until all service delivery backlogs are addressed. We are committed to providing our residents with the highest quality of services.

“Ours is to make sure that all stormwater blockages and sewer backlogs are cleared as soon as possible,” said Montshiwa who added that the municipality is taking all the necessary steps to ensure that services are running efficiently and effectively.
