The community made their voices heard as well saying there is a need for revamping business hives. The community also claimed that there was a need to formalise sporting facilities within the ward itself. A particular focus was the reduction of the crime rate in the ward and it was suggested that the Mayoral Bursary Scheme should be reintroduced. In addition, the municipality needs to review the billing system. A recurring problem of non-functional street lights was also highlighted and was there a call for municipal employees to be more professional.

“The mayor appreciated the remarks made by the community and will speedily attend to all the issues raised,” vowed Tshidiso Tlharipe, spokesperson to the mayor.

Thlaripe added that the mayor is committed to resolving issues and will be attended to before visiting for the second round of IDP meetings scheduled for April/ May 2024.
