Load reduction is planned from 8:00 – one area affected

Mohlakeng is not spared of electricity interruptions as the municipality announced load reduction from 08:00 on June 28.

Residents from different parts of the town are facing electricity woes as maintenance is being carried out at different substations. Mohlakeng residents are not to be spared either.

Due to maintenance work to be carried out today (June 28) at the Mohlakeng substation, residents of that area will experience an interruption of power supply.

Rand West City Local Municipality spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa issued the announcement and apologises for the inconvenience that this may cause.

“Please be informed that Eskom will be shutting down one of their 10 MVA transformers at the Mohlakeng substation on Wednesday, June 28. The maintenance work will be from 08:00 until 16:00 and will be to maintain the facility. This will force the municipality to implement internal load reductions until Eskom is ready to energise the second transformer,” said Montshiwa.
