Load reduction planned from 17:00 – one area affected
Eskom has released a statement saying they will be implementing load reduction on Wednesday night – at least one Rand West City area will be affected.
Eskom will implement load reduction from 17:00 to 22:00 on Wednesday, August 24 affecting three West Rand areas.
In Mogale City, Kagiso and Rietvallei will be affected, while Bekkersdal is the area affected in Rand West City.
This is necessary to avoid network overloading in high-density areas,” Eskom said in a statement.
“During the load-reduction implementation, customers are urged to switch off all their electrical appliances to avoid possible damage due to power surges when supply returns. Failure to do so may lead to transformer trips or failures, and damage to household appliances when supply is restored. Please do not report this outage.”
Communities are encouraged to report meter bypasses, illegal connections and vandalism of the electricity infrastructure on the Eskom Crime Line number 0800 11 27 22.
