Nearly 30 crime incidents in just one month

A security company released its June crime statistics revealing nearly 90% of crime occurred during the day.

Mapogo A Mathamaga Security’s latest crime report for June revealed 25 incidents and that 88% of crimes occurred during the daytime.

According to operational manager Danie Vermeulen, only one arrest was made, however, 68% of the crimes happened in residential areas while only 32% occurred in commercial areas.

He continued by stating that 88% of the crime happened during the day shift and 12% happened during the night shift.

“A total of 19 755 signals were actioned and 15 315 signals were investigated by dispatched officers,” Vermeulen concluded.
