Stolen sheep recovered in Dennydale

'With the help of local farmers, the thieves and stolen sheep were located.' – Operations manager.

Stolen sheep were recovered in a stock theft incident at Dennydale agricultural holdings on June 3. It was one of four serious incidents reported to Mapogo A Mathamaga Security in Rand West City for the period May 29 to June 4.

The security company’s operations manager Danie Vermeulen explained the incident took place at 02:16.

“Mapogo reaction officer Andries Potgieter received a call regarding three people who were noticed in Dennydale with suspected stolen sheep.

He investigated and with the help of local farmers, located the thieves and the stolen sheep.”

Danie added that the thieves were arrested and handed over to the Randfontein police and the stolen sheep were handed back to the lawful owner.

1. Tuesday, May 30 at 06:56 – Theft in Johanna Road, Wilbotsdal

Suspects gained entry by lifting the main gate off the rail and stole two solar flood lights.

2. Friday, June 2 07:30 – Business break-in in 2nd Street, Aureus

Suspects gained entry by climbing onto the roof and breaking through it. They stole copper electrical wire, an undisclosed amount of money and various other items.

3. Sunday, June 4 at 06:21 – Theft in Drakensberg Street, Finsbury

A driver of a white Mercedes-Benz entered a service station and after filling up with diesel to the amount of R700, they sped off without paying for the fuel.
