The purpose of the visit was to support teachers in the problems they encounter at school and to maintain discipline. The learners were encouraged to play an important role in crime prevention and were given tips on how they can do so. A school search was also conducted and some learners had illegal substances and dangerous weapons on them that were confiscated.

Learners who were caught with these substances will be put in a disciplinary hearing and some will even be expelled,” said Sebonyane.

Learners and teachers are encouraged to always call the number 10111 should they witness crime on the school premises, whether it is by students or teachers.
