Staff held at gunpoint at store in CBD; cellphones and money stolen
Mapogo A Mathamaga Security in Rand West City revealed the store was also robbed of cellphones and money.
Staff were held at gunpoint as well as money and various cellphones were stolen during an armed robbery at a store in the Randfontein CBD at 12:44 on Saturday, May 6.
It was one of three serious incidents reported to Mapogo A Mathamaga Security in Rand West City for the period Monday, May 1 to Sunday, May 7.

According to the security company’s operations manager Danie Vermeulen, there was also an incident of common theft in Percheron Street, Greenhills at 03:01 on Wednesday, May 3. Here the suspects gained entry by jumping over the perimeter wall and went on to steal one outside alarm beam.
There was also an incident of housebreaking and theft in Petrel Street, Helikonpark on Thursday, May 4 where suspects gained entry by lifting the entrance gate off the rail and forced open the security gate and front door. The suspects then went on to steal various unknown items.
