Attempted murder in Middelvlei, multiple break-ins during Easter
Mapogo A Mathamaga Security's latest crime report revealed eight serious incidents.
A driver was shot in the hand and arm in an attempted murder in Middelvlei. It was one of eight serious incidents reported to Mapogo A Mathamaga Security in Rand West City for the period Tuesday, April 4 to Saturday, April 8.
The security company’s operations manager Danie Vermeulen explained the incident took place at 21:56 last Tuesday, April 4.

“One armed suspect approached a vehicle parked outside a premises while the driver was still inside the vehicle. The suspect proceeded to open the door and fired three shots hitting the driver in his hand and arm. No arrests have been made”.

Details about other incidents:
1. Tuesday, April 4 at 03:08 – Break-in and theft in First Street, Aureus
Suspects gained entry by cutting the locks of the main gates and gained entry into the building. The suspects went on to steal an unknown amount of cash and two welding machines. No arrests have been made.
2. Thursday, April 6 at 18:22 – Housebreaking and theft in Ventersdorp Road, Wilbotsdal
Suspects gained entry by forcing open the front door and went on to steal one Hi-Fi, four speakers, and a TV.
3. Friday, April 7 at 03:51 – Theft in Kanfer Street, Greenhills
Suspects gained entry into the premises by cutting the electric fence and went on to steal three outside alarm beams. No arrests were made.
4. Friday, April 7 at 03:37 – Theft in Greenhills Avenue, Greenhills
Suspects gained entry into the premises by jumping over the wall and going to steal one outside alarm beam. No arrests were made.
5. Saturday, April 8 at 07:41 – Housebreaking and theft in Pad 2 Botha plots, Randfontein
Suspects gained entry into the property by cutting the perimeter fence and breaking open various doors to the house. The suspects then went on to steal various items. No arrests have been made.
6. Saturday, April 8 at 16:50. Theft in Main Reef Road, Randfontein
Upon routine patrol, the security guard noticed that an unknown number of suspects gained entry into the premises and stole one palisade fence panel. No arrests were made.
7. Saturday, April 8 at 13:02. Housebreaking and theft in Karee Street, Greenhills
Suspects gained entry into the premises by lifting the main gate of the rail and forcing open the front door. The suspects then went on to steal one TV. No arrests were made.
