Body found in Ivory Park is that of missing businessman Leon Hefer

'It was confirmed that the body that was found was that of the missing person, Leon Hefer' – Randfontein Police.

Randfontein Police confirmed that the body found in an open field in Ivory Park Clayville Ext 77 on Thursday morning, March 23 is that of the missing businessman, Leon Hefer.

According to Randfontein Police spokesperson Sergeant Carmen Hendricks, at about 07:00, Randfontein Detective Lieutenant Colonel Moss together with Captain Van Der Merwe and the investigating officer Sergeant Seshoka received information of an unknown body that was found lying in an open field in Ivory Park and that it might fit the description of the missing person that was reported at Randfontein Police.

They proceeded to Germiston Pathology Services to identify the body. It was confirmed that it is Leon Hefer. The vehicle that was used by the deceased silver VW Polo with registration number XXK 182 GP is still not found.”

The case is still under investigation.
