Intruders force children into room, take generator

An unknown number of thugs targeted a home in Greenhills for a generator and laptop and forced the children inside a room in the process.

A homeowner’s children were taken into a room during a home invasion in Greenhills in one of three serious incidents reported to Mapogo A Mathamaga Security’s client base in Rand West City for the period Monday, March 6 to Sunday, March 12.

The security company’s operations manager Danie Vermeulen explained the incident took place at about 12:56 on Saturday, March 11.

“Suspects gained entry through the main gate, garage door, and main door. The suspects then took the children of the homeowner into one room and went on to steal one generator and one laptop. No arrests were made.”

Details about other incidents:

1. Thursday, March 9 06:10 – Attempted housebreaking in Langerman Street, Randgate

Suspects attempted to gain entry by breaking a window but fled when the alarm sounded. No arrests were made.

2. Sunday, March 12 12:34 – Housebreaking and theft in Kwartel Street, Greenhills

Suspects gained entry by lifting the main gate off the rail and went on to force open the burglar gate and main door. The suspects went on to steal two flat-screen TVs. No arrests were made.
