VW Polo targeted at complex one of several serious incidents – Mapogo

Mapogo A Mathamaga Security released its latest crime report for Rand West City revealing several serious incidents from housebreaking and theft to business break-ins and attempted vehicle theft.

Perpetrators gained entry into complex by cutting the electric fence and then climbing over the wall and proceeded to steal a VW Polo in Greenhills in one of the eight incidents reported to Mapogo A Mathamaga Security in the Rand West City for the period Monday, November 7 to Sunday, November 13.

The security company’s operations manager Ben Willemse explained the incident took place at 04:02 last Saturday, November 12.

“The guards made an alarm and the perpetrators fled the scene,” said Willemse.

Details about other incidents:

1. Tuesday, November 8 at 04:15 – Housebreaking and theft in Langerman Street, Randgate:

Perpetrators gained access onto the property by climbing over the wall and proceeded to the school shop where they forced open the safety gate and wooden door and took a cash register containing money and fled the scene.

2. Tuesday, November 8 at 12:38 – Business break-in in Sutherland Street, Randfontein CBD:

Perpetrators climbed onto the roof and gained entry into the store and stole various items and fled the scene.

3. Wednesday, November 9 at 08:59 – Attempted business break-in in Kenneth Avenue, Greenhills:

Perpetrators broke a small window at the rear of the business but did not gain entry into the business and fled the scene.

4. Wednesday, November 9 at 10:11 – Theft in Bussing Street, Aureus:

Perpetrators gained entry onto the premises and stole an unknown amount of steel and fled the scene.

5. Wednesday, November 9 at 15:05 – Housebreaking and theft in Sidney Carter Street, Greenhills:

Perpetrators broke through the main gate of palisade bars and forced open the safety gate and stole a laptop computer and fled the scene in a blue Kia vehicle.

6. Friday, November 11 at 05:34 – Housebreaking and theft in Belladonna Street, Greenhills:

Perpetrators climbed over the back wall to gain entry onto the premises and stole a welding machine from the premises and fled the scene.

7. Friday, November 11 at 08:08 – Business break-in in Main Reef Road, Randfontein CBD:

Perpetrators cut the electric fence and proceeded to the store room where they forced open the lock and stole various building equipment and fled the scene.

8. Saturday, November 12 at – Attempted vehicle theft in Nightingale Street, Greenhills:

Perpetrators gained entry into complex by cutting the electric fence and then climbing over the wall and proceeded to steal a VW Polo when the guards made alarm the perpetrators fled the scene.
