Bekkersdal police celebrated the last day of Women’s Month by embarking on a walk through the different streets in the area and a prayer session on August 31.
This was to engage with community members regarding the different criminal elements affecting especially women.

The walk was in partnership with Greater Westonaria Interdenominational Women in Prayer, Department of Community Safety, Department of Correctional Services, Greater Westonaria Taxi Association and other stakeholders.
It started at the taxi rank and ended at the Bekkersdal Police Station.
Bekkersdal SAPS sector manager Warrant Officer Sizakele Ndumiso thanked everyone for their efforts.
We thank everyone for joining us today and leaving the comfort of their homes to join hands in the fight against crime.
“Let us report any suspicious behaviour to the police. Together we can win the fight against crime,” said Ndumiso.
