WATCH: The true meaning of Christmas

It's Christmas Day and Christians celebrate it as the anniversary of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, a spiritual leader whose teachings form the basis of their religion.

Christians all over the world observe Christmas Day as a day to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. It is a time for giving, family, cheerful music and decorations, feasting, singing Christmas carols, and, of course, opening the gifts that Santa Claus brought you – not so?

Although there are clues, the exact month and date of Jesus’ birth are nowhere to be found.

Numerous sources, however, revealed the following:

• history.com: “Christmas is both a sacred religious holiday and a worldwide cultural and commercial phenomenon. For two millennia, people around the world have been observing it with traditions and practices that are both religious and secular. Christians celebrate Christmas Day as the anniversary of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, a spiritual leader whose teachings form the basis of their religion.”
