Sixteen kids injured in three-vehicle crash

One child was seriously injured while another 15 kids sustained minor to moderate injuries when three vehicles including a taxi crashed in Carletonville on the far West Rand.

Sixteen children were injured when a taxi and two light motor vehicles collided in Carletonville on Tuesday morning, July 25.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said they along with other services arrived on the scene at about 07:22 only to find the taxi and two vehicles in the middle of a road.

“Several children were seen seated along the side of the road. Medics then assessed the children and found that one was in a severe condition while 15 others had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no fatalities were found.”
