From Herald journalist to branch DCC

I might not be a journalist anymore, but I will still be around at Caxton West Rand, just as their Digital Content Creator.

Telling the communities stories … what an amazing experience it has been!

This will be my last article as I’m leaving the Randfontein Herald to start a new career path.

In 2019 I started my journey as a journalist at the Herald, and from there I had the opportunity to tell thousands of stories, attend many events and meet some lovely individuals.

I had the chance to grow as a person and gain a lot of experience in the field.

Although I may no longer be a journalist, I will still be at Caxton Joburg West, just serving a wider audience as the newly appointed Digital Content Creator based at the Witpoortjie office.

It’s been almost four amazing years of working in the community and everyone getting to know me as Die Herald and Die tannie van die koerant. I will cherish all the memories that were created and the people that I’ve met.

A few things I will miss covering are all the rugby games at the Randfontein Rugby Club, the bowling at the Randfontein Bowling Club, all the school concerts, and helping to create awareness about animals welfare in the community by visiting and doing profiles at the RandWest SPCA and Cast Aways Animal Sanctuary.

Thank you to all the people who let me be their voice.
