Youth Day: 8 000 new jobs to be advertised

The jobs include receptionists, drivers, artisans, cleaners, security managers, and social workers among others.

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi is doing things differently this year and promises that 8 000 new jobs will be advertised on Youth Day, June 16.

This was at a keynote address at Tsakane Stadium recently where Lesufi said the new jobs will go live on the public holiday.

“We are sending a message to young people and all unemployed people that we are ready to employ you in Gauteng. We don’t want you to celebrate June 16 being unemployed.

We are tired of unemployment. I am proud to say that we will advertise 8 000 new permanent jobs for all people to apply on June 16, so that they can join the Gauteng Government,” said Lesufi.

These jobs fall under the Nasi Ispani project and will be permanent. The jobs include receptionists, drivers, artisans, cleaners, security managers, and social workers among others.

Meanwhile, the Nasi Ispani project has already seen thousands of young people employed as crime prevention wardens. The crime wardens were recently launched and unveiled to the public at Soshanguve and Tsakane stadiums respectively, after undergoing training in crime prevention.

Nasi Ispani job applications can be done online here.
