RWCLM hosts Mandela Day Commemoration

The Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) did their part for Nelson Mandela Day on Monday, July 18.

The RWCLM spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa said they had a Mandela Day Commemoration where the aim was to empower the town’s small businesses.

“Minister of Small Business Stella Ndaveni Abraham distributed equipment to small businesses in Rand West City and the total value came just shy of R1 million,” said Montshiwa.

During the event they also did site visits where they had a cleaning drive at Bekkersdal Graveyard, a blanket drive in Bekkersdal and Mohlakeng, and a cleaning drive in Mohlakeng.

He described the day as a huge success and said they would certainly have this event again next year.
