New FREE Mental Health Support Group

The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) will launch a new FREE Depression and Anxiety Support Group for young adults aged between 18 and 35.

Join the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) as they launch a new free Depression and Anxiety Support Group for young adults (18 to 35 years) at 19:00 on Wednesday, July 27.

This SADAG Mental Health Support Group will meet online using Zoom every Wednesday.

Support group leader Sanchè shared that the main aim of starting her support group was that people should know that there are others who have been through similar experiences and to remind people that they are not alone. Sanchè explained that the purpose of her support group is to be a pillar of strength and create a safe haven for those living with depression and anxiety.

“SADAG support groups offer a place of warmth, understanding and support to those in need. Research shows that support groups help people cope with and manage a wide variety of mental illnesses by offering ongoing support. They also provide information on mental illnesses, self-help tips and coping strategies.

“SADAG support groups provide supplementary support which allows members the opportunity to form connections with others experiencing similar troubles, and to learn from one another in a non-judgmental, confidential atmosphere.”
