Service delivery blitz to educate the community

Gauteng Department of Social Development's service delivery blitz in Zenzele on July 5 aimed at addressing youth unemployment and late birth registrations among other issues.

The Gauteng Department of Social Development West Rand region will host a service delivery blitz at the Zenzele sports ground in Rand West City on Thursday July 7.

Proceedings will commence at 10:00.

According to a statement issued by the department’s community development supervisor, Mapule Nkwe, the service delivery blitz seeks to bring government services closer to the community, among them the Young Employment Service and Tshepo 1-million.

“These programmes are aimed at addressing youth unemployment, late birth registrations, access to social worker services, and providing help to Early Childhood Development owners and women-run projects.

“The department conducted a household survey and found that there is a high rate of unemployment in the area, and that the community was far from government services. The blitz will also educate the community on services offered by the department and its partners.”
