Lenmed applauds fellow healthcare heroes

Nurses were celebrated with a two-hour breakfast buffet and numerous gifts.

Nurses from Lenmed Randfontein Private Hospital were celebrated for all of their hard work during International Nurses’ Day on Thursday, May 12. The theme was ‘A voice to lead: Invest in nursing and respect rights to secure global health’.

Lenmed spokesperson, Ofentse Pharumele said they decided to make the theme their own to highlight that investing in nursing starts at the beginning – the roots – hence the trees that were used as centrepieces, adding that with all things in life you need to get the foundation right to build something successful.

We hosted a two-hour breakfast buffet in our beautifully decorated lecture hall. Our nurses received treats from our catering team Fedics, gifts from Lancet Laboratories, and spa vouchers from Femmes De Beaute,” said Ofentse.

Nursing Services Manager Bernedette Fourie and Hospital Manager Marietha van Vuuren took the opportunity to thank the nurses for their hard work, and Bernedette led the nurses pledge.

Bernedette said the nurses pledge drives you to become a missionary of health, not only to influence change in others but to influence positive change within ourselves.”

Ofentse added that a message from the Lenmed Chief Executive Officer was read, thanking the nurses for the immense difference they make to so many and the empathy they display daily, despite the vast demands of the occupation.
