Aranda, US company bring warmth

For the 18th year running, Clover Mama Afrika can warm hearts and bodies thanks to Aranda Textiles in Randfontein and their USA distributor, Thula Tula.

Aranda Textiles in Randfontein has once again gifted South Africa’s most underprivileged communities with the fluffiest, warmest blankets for the winter.

This time around they partnered with their USA-based distributor, Thula Tula. This is the 18th year the company has donated blankets, which is deeply appreciated by Clover Mama Afrika and those in their care.

“With South Africa’s winter set to be a cold one, especially for the Gauteng and North West provinces, we are beyond grateful for the generous donation,” said Prof Elain Vlok, manager of the Clover Mama Afrika Trust.

Each year we see more people in need, flocking to the centres of our Mamas; children, elderly or those facing other hardships, who come looking for help and refuge. These beautiful blankets are put to good use, keeping those in need warm, but restoring some of their dignity as well,” noted Prof Vlok.

Clover Mama Afrika is a sustainable Corporate Social Investment project that has been in existence since 2004. Over the years it has hosted 440 training sessions with over 2 313 beneficiaries. A major part of the project is the concept of skills transfer and sharing, and these blankets signify more sharing, and the spreading of love and comfort.

“It warms my heart to know that thanks to Aranda, more of those in need will be taken care of this winter. I hear from our Mamas each year, who tell us that one blanket can be shared by four children, and I know that these blankets are put to great use and appreciated more than most of us realise. For that I sincerely thank Aranda Textiles on behalf of our Mamas and their communities,” concluded Prof Vlok.
