Management of the Rand West City Libraries recently held the annual public speaking competition at three schools in the area.

According to Thandeka Legae, the three schools that participated were Randfontein High School (RHS) in Greenhills, Hoërskool Riebeeckrand in Riebeeck, and Lukhanyo High School in Mohlakeng.

It was an inter-schools competition among learners from high schools in Rand West City, and its aim was to encourage reading and research among the youth, and explore different ideas and topics,” Legae said.

Learners were awarded certificates, medal and trophies based on their performance.

Leaners also scooped certificates and trophies for their performance at the competition. Photo submitted.
