Workers robbed at gunpoint in Rikasrus one of three incidents in five days

Mapogo released its latest crime report which totals three serious incidents, mostly housebreaking including an armed robbery in Rikasrus.

Mapogo A Mathamaga Security released its latest crime report for their client base in Rand West City.

According to Operations Manager at Mapogo, Ben Willemse, three incidents were reported for the period Monday, April 18 to Sunday, April 24.

A breakdown of the incidents:

• Wednesday, April 20 at 10:13 – Housebreaking and theft on Park Street, Randfontein: Perpetrators entered the premises by climbing over the back wall, and stole items from the yard and fled the scene.

• Friday, April 22 at 07:39 – Attempted housebreaking on Lazaar Avenue, Wheatlands: Perpetrators gained entry onto the premises by removing bricks from the perimeter wall. They attempted to force open the safety gate and door of the office but failed, and fled the scene when the alarm activated.

• Sunday, April 24 at 06:46 – Armed robbery on Road 10, Rikasrus: Perpetrators approached the workers and robbed them of cellphones and other items at gunpoint.
