Blackout in large parts of town due to maintenance

Municipality confirms the power outage experienced in several parts of town on Wednesday is due to maintenance.

Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) management confirmed that maintenance being done at the Drowel Substation has caused a power outage in several parts of town on Wednesday April 13.

Godfrey Moutloali of RWCLM Senior Communications said the following areas were affected since 11:00 namely Wheatlands, Loumarina, Botha, Elandsvlei, Wilbotsdal, Eikepark, Helikonpark, Culemborgpark, Randgate and Greenhills.

There is no indication as to when electricity will be restored in these above-mentioned areas,” he added.
