A total number of 1 004 people are currently hospitalised in the public (645) and private (359) facilities.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 65 312 with 63 434 recoveries and 1 754 deaths. This translates to a total of 124 active cases.

A total of 9 432 920 Covid-19 vaccinations have been administered in the Gauteng Province as of March 27. The total number of individuals fully vaccinated is 4 730 064.

In the West Rand, which comprises Mogale City, Rand West City, and Merafong City, 659 534 vaccinations have been administered, with 328 434 individuals fully vaccinated.

All persons older than 12 years old are encouraged to visit their nearest vaccination site to receive the jab. It is thought that vaccinating 70% or more of the adult population can minimise the impact of the fourth wave. The Department of Health (DoH) further reminds the public that those who received a two-dose vaccine need to return for their second dose at 42 days. All Gauteng sites, both private and public, accept walk-ins whether people are registered on the EVDS or not.
